A LOCAL author received high praise after being awarded at the 2026 International Impact Book Awards.
Limerick woman Michele Roys was named a winner in the Health – Chronic Pain category at this year’s awards for her memoir But You Look Just Fine: My Journey to Rediscover Joy Amidst Chronic Pain and Invisible Illness.
Michele has spent years building her writing and advocacy work from the Treaty City, where she also runs her podcast The Michele Roys Show.
Her memoir draws on her experience of living with trigeminal neuralgia, fibromyalgia, and Lyme disease – and on the long, often dismissive road many women face in being believed about chronic pain.
