AID worker James Kelly from Granagh is calling on Limerick sports fans to sign up to GOAL Jersey Day, which is scheduled for Friday, October 11.

The annual fundraiser invites people to wear their favourite sports jersey to school, work or college for the day, and make whatever contribution they can afford to GOAL.

Also promoting the event are Munster rugby stars, Andrew Conway and Ian Keatley, who met with GOAL chief executive Barry Andrews in Limerick recently.

“Jersey Day is great fun and a very simple idea, and after working for GOAL over the past three years, I would love to see more people from Limerick sign up and help raise as much money as possible for our work overseas,” said James, who has worked for the organisation in Haiti, Pakistan and in their head office in Dun Laoghaire, where he is currently employed as a fundraising officer.

All proceeds generated will be used by GOAL to support some of its most urgent operations across 13 countries, including Syria, where the organisation is implementing its largest ever humanitarian response programme.
