Work begins on new era of development in Adare

Adare Playground DevelopmentWORK has begun on the Manor Fields development in Adare with the first in a series of related facilities due for completion by the end of next month.

These works include a new access roadway, footpath and lighting, car and bus parking for more than 90 vehicles and a state of the art all-abilities playground.

The overall plan for Manor Fields includes multiple grass sports pitches catering for all codes and including championship grade GAA and soccer pitches, a floodlit synthetic pitch, tennis courts with lighting, cricket field and training area, exercise trails, changing facilities, spectator shelters, viewing areas and pavilions.

The facility is owned by the community and Adare Recreation and Community Complex (ARCC), which manages the facility on the community’s behalf and has raised in excess of €100,000.

This has been used as matching funds to secure Leader grant aid through West Limerick Resources, which has been instrumental in development of the overall plan, and the delivery of Phase 1 of the project.

ARCC hopes to use the opening of the playground and entrance as an opportunity to present the overall plan and the anticipated phases of development to the people of Adare and wider community.
