“If there were more men like Bobby, wouldn’t the world just be a beautiful place.”
These were among the touching words of tribute paid to a young man who lost his life in a tragic car crash this past Sunday night (June 14).
Requiem Mass for the late Bobby Ryan ‘Minor’, of Killuragh, Cappamore, County Limerick, will take place this Friday at St Michael’s Church in Cappamore, followed by a private cremation.
In the days since his passing, a flood of tributes for Mr Ryan have flowed in, with mourners saying “he will be remembered with great love by all who knew him”.
“Bobby had a gorgeous, contagious smile. His eyes just let up with pure radiant love,” another mourner wrote in an online tribute.
“I remember him as a young fellow giving me a hand to paint the family home. He was making a better job of it than I was,” another recalled.
“We will always cherish the memories of him, especially the many passionate conversations we shared in our home and his quick, easy wit. His warmth, everyday kindnesses, and generous character left a lasting impact on everyone around him,” wrote another.
Mr Ryan lost his life in a tragic crash which took place at around 10pm this past Sunday night on the L1135. He was the sole occupant of the car he was travelling in.
Four others were left injured following the crash, all travelling in the other car.
The driver of the second car, a woman in her 50s, and a teenage girl were taken to University Hospital Limerick to be treated for serious injuries. Two other passengers, a woman in her 20s and a teenage boy, were treated at the hospital for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
Gardaí investigating the fatal crash have appealed to witnesses or road users who may have footage or information on the incident to come forward to Bruff Garda Station (061 382 940), the Garda Confidential Line (1800 666 111), or any Garda station.
They also appealed to the public not to share images or footage of the crash online and on social media.
Mr Ryan will be reposing at Lynch Kelly Funeral Home in Cappamore this Thursday evening from 5pm to 7pm. Requiem Mass will take place at 1.30pm on Friday, followed by private cremation.
