Asta sets her sights on Limerick’s lonely hearts

Amour Arrow Asta Aata Bautreniene of the Amour Arrow International Dating Agency on Thomas Street.LONELY and looking for love? Well, fret no more, as cupid has his sights set on Limerick’s lonesome singles with the arrival of Amour Arrow International Dating Agency on Thomas Street.

Only open two weeks in the city centre, the dating agency with a cosmopolitan flavour has already had a huge response from local singletons of all nationalities. Operated by Lithuanian matchmaker Asta Bautreniene, Amour Arrow opened its first office in Mayo three years ago and has now over 2,000 clients in Ireland aged between 21 and 75.

Asta told the Limerick Post that she was inundated with calls from lonely hearts in the Mid-West and decided to open a base in Limerick to meet the demand.

“We had 20 people sign up for our service on our opening day here in Limerick. There are lots of lonely men and women out there looking for a serious relationship with a suitable partner and they are not going to find that at a nightclub,” said Ms Bautreniene.

“The people who come to us are looking for long-term relationships. They are not looking for one night stands,” she insisted.

“Dating and meeting new people should be a fun experience, not a fearful one. We offer a confidential service that makes getting back into the dating scene as painless as possible. Around 50 per cent of our clients are now in serious relationships and we’ve already had two marriages.

“Some people are shy and need a bit of help. Christmas and Valentine’s Day are coming up and people do not want to be alone. Everyone wants someone to love and we offer a confidential, relaxed and safe environment for members to introduce themselves,” Asta explained.

Amour Arrow host a variety of events from speed dating parties, singles nights out and short breaks abroad to help prospective matches break the ice.

The dating agency has a proportionate number of men and women on its books with Asta’s clients holding passports from Ireland, Britain, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Pakistan, Mongolia, China and Brazil.

“I have noticed that Irish men want to meet women from different countries. I don’t know if Irish women are happy about that. But the women aren’t as concerned about age and nationality and are more concerned about finding a suitable partner,” she said.
