DELIGHTED staff at Meaneys Centra Foodstore in  Dromcollogher, have told the Limerick Post that they are busy trying to guess the identity of the person who bought their lucky ticket there and won more than half a million Euros.

“Nobody’s cracking but it wasn’t a quick pick – it was the person’s own numbers so that means someone who does it regularly and that narrows it down a bit,” said shop owner, Maire Meaney.

The €4 single draw ticket with Plus was bought on Saturday January 18 and scooped €588,114 for the lucky shopper, who was one of six winners of the jackpot.

“It’s not an outrageous amount and everyone needs it someway. We just hope it was won by someone who will enjoy it,” said Maire
