A COUNTY Limerick man has been granted bail on charges relating to possession of โฌ180,000 worth of heroin at his home almost six years ago.
Barry Hodgins (32) was arrested after Gardaรญ found the drugs at his home in Carrig House, Clarina on July, 7, 2008.
At Limerick District Court last week, Judge Aeneas McCarthy was told that the State had no objection to bail being granted subject to a number of conditions including that he must surrender his passport to Gardaรญ; sign on daily at a nominated Garda station and enter into his own bond of โฌ1,000 with an independent surety of โฌ20,000.
Gardaรญ also sought that โฌ10,000 be lodged to the court pending his release and there was no objection to his mother acting as independent surety.
The case was adjourned for the preparation of a book of evidence with the Director of Public Prosecutions indicating that the matter would proceed by way of trial at the Circuit Criminal Court.
