CITY East councillor Leo Walsh is calling on Limerick County Council to address traffic calming and parking issues in Annacotty.

According to the Fine Gael councillor, motorists are driving at speed through the village and speed ramps are now required on all access roads. Cllr Walsh also claims that local businesses are suffering due to lack of parking in Annacotty.

“Local business owners tell me that cars are left abandoned for hours every day outside their premises as many of these car owners take a bus route on the nearby Dublin Road. This is causing a huge loss of trade as customers calling cannot park outside local businesses and are left with no choice but to drive away,” said Cllr Walsh.

“It is hard enough for businesses to survive these days and having vehicles left out side ones business for hours on end is just not fair,” he concluded.
