Horslips to play Limerick

PSYCHEDELIC folk rockers Horslips will play Limerick Milk Market on Friday August 8. For Horslips this will be the first gig in Limerick in 35 years. Horslips are one of the defining bands of the Celtic rock genre releasing nine albums in the 1970’s that explored celtic mythology mixing traditional Irish music with blues rock that made the band one of Ireland’s most exciting live acts with a following that holds Horslips as celtic heroes to this day.

horslips2The gig is part of the Sarsfields Day celebrations. Sarsfields Day on August 8 is a festival to celebrate Patrick Sarsfield and the Jacobite heroes of Limerick in 1690.

Horslips play Live at the Big Top on Friday August 8.
