Hunt Museum to display Texaco winner’s stunning art

THE overall winner of the Texaco Art Competition has been announced. Shania McDonagh, aged 16 from Co. Mayo has scooped the top prize. This talented young artist has been described by Professor Declan McGonagle in the Irish independent as “a young artist of exceptional skill and talent.”

Her work entitled ‘Coleman’ is based on a photograph by James Fennell and will be displayed in the Hunt Museum, Limerick for a limited time.

A spokesperson for the Hunt Museum said, “We are very proud to host the national winner of the Texaco Children’s Art Competition here in the national City of Culture 2014”. Texaco art
