THE JOURNEY of the Royal de Luxe Giant will be worth around €30 million to Limerick city shops restaurants and accommodation providers, it has been predicted.

At a press conference to meet the creative genius behind the giants, Jean-Luc Ciurcoult, City of Culture Director, Mike Fitzpatrick, said that city traders “can expect a bonanza and to make multiples of their normal take”.

Looking after the crew, technical support people and volunteers alone will take 1,400 bed nights and the serving of 4,000 meals.

The City of Culture has applied for a licence for an event of 200,00, but it’s difficult to predict how many more or less will, come said Mike.
