Twins found dead at Charleville home

UPDATE – THE bodies of two children have been discovered at a house in Charleville, Co Cork this Thursday evening.

The discovery was made by an older sibling shortly after 5pm and it is understood that the two boys, believed to be twins aged 9, were found dead having suffered what is suspected to be a violent death.

Gardai are at the scene and the house has been sealed off.

It has since emerged that a third body, that of an older brother to the young twins has been found in Buttevant. Gardai are at both scenes and roads have been sealed off and the areas preserved.

The main Limerick to Cork road has been closed following the discovery.

The bodies remain at the scenes and the areas have been sealed off for technical examination, diversions are in place.

The office of the State Pathologist has been notified and post mortems expected to be carried out tomorrow on the bodies of the two children and on that of the older male.
