The Limerick Strand Hotel – one of Ireland’s busiest and most profitable hotels – is on the market with an asking price of €17million.

Built in 2007, the award winning 4 star hotel overlooks the River Shannon and is within short walking distance of Limerick’s main shopping, entertainment and business districts. It is also highly regarded as a base for all of Limericks major sporting events due to its close proximity to Páirc na nGael – home to the Limerick hurling and football teams, and Thomond Park – the home of Munster Rugby.

The hotel features 184  bedrooms – all with full air conditioning – several bars & restaurants, extensive conference & banqueting facilities and a modern leisure club with approx. 900 members. It enjoys very strong corporate business and has an excellent reputation for food, with a number of dining options including; The River Restaurant and The Terrace Bar & Café – all set against the backdrop of the River Shannon. Private dining is available in the John B Keane Library, the City View Suite and the Shannon Suite. Conference & Banqueting facilities can cater for up to 600 delegates with a choice of 13 meeting rooms, 7 of which are located on the top floor of the hotel with views over the Shannon estuary and Limerick city.

Energise Health Club, with approx. 900 members, provides state of the art leisure facilities, including; fully equipped gym, 20m swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, sauna, jacuzzi, plunge pool, aerobics studio and spa with five treatment rooms.

According to the joint selling agents – Savills and CB Richard Ellis – the Strand Hotel is a thriving hotel, extremely well regarded in the area, which benefits from a strong existing trade and a strong mix of both corporate & leisure business.

The hotel sector in Ireland enjoyed much improved trading conditions in 2013, largely driven by an increase in visitor numbers and a resurgent Irish brand. Key indicators for 2014 also show considerable growth with Limerick recording the highest RevPar growth in Ireland for the eight months to August 2014, up 12% on last year. According to Trending.ie, the Strand Hotel outperformed Limerick RevPAR by over 80% in 2013.
