CANNABIS valued at €100,000 was seized by gardai attached to the divisional drugs unit from a car driven out of a Caherdavin Estate en route to distribution by a criminal gang.

The occupants of the car, a 54-year-old male and a 40-year-old female, both from Limerick City, were arrested and are currently detained in Roxboro and Mayorstone Garda Stations for questioning.

The drugs, understood to be a consignment destined for the Limerick market, were seized following an intelligence led operation where gardai set up a surveillance operation at the house in Davin Gardens on Thursday last.
