THE Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Bill 2013 will strengthen the rights of older people by ensuring that there is a presumption of capacity for older people to make decisions unless the contrary can be shown.
Sage – Support and Advocacy Service for Older People will be holding a briefing seminar in Kilmurry Lodge, Dublin Road, Castletroy this Tuesday November 11 from 10am to 12noon to outline the planned legislation and its likely implications for older people and care providers.

Senator Mary-Louise O’Donnell is playing a prominent role in the briefing linked to a recruitment drive for volunteer advocates and supported by sports commentator Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh.
Limerick is one of the priority areas for development of the service.
