THIS Friday 28, The Granary Library on Michael Street will host a concert by RTE’s Contempo Quartet that is open and free to all.
Taking place at 1pm, it’s part of the formal Autumn Lunchtime Concert Series 2014, to be enhanced this Friday by poetry readings from the ‘Mountain ash in Connemara’ album by Joan Mcbreen. The poet will be there in person herself.
On the music programme, anticipate Joseph Haydn’s ‘Birds’ String Quartet and Irish airs arranged for strings by Glen Austin.
You can facebook LimerickArtsOffice for more details. This is the last in this seasonal string of lunchtime concerts that has a ‘father and son’ theme, inspired by Haydn who is deemed to be father of the string quartet and his 21st century Irish disciples.
