Dail deputies in court for airport incursion

RYANAIR has announced the expansion of their Manchester service to Shannon Airport, increasing its operations from five to six days a week.

shannonairportTDs Clare Daly(United Left Alliance)  and Mick Wallace (Ind) have been ordered to appear before Ennis District Court this Wednesday December 3.

The two TDs are charged with climbing the perimeter fence of Shannon Airport on July 22, 2014, and with entering a part of the airport that they did not have permission to be in.

The court summons served to Deputies Wallace and Daly is one of a series of such summons handed out in recent years.

Two Galway Alliance Against War activists, Margaretta D’Arcy and Niall Farrell were imprisoned for contempt of court after refusing to give an undertaking not to go on the runways at the airport again.
