RAPPER/MC WEENZ fronted Limerick band Campaign LK and has in the last year concentrated on a solo autobiographical album. The album will be called ‘Sick as my Secrets’ featuring 12 tracks telling parts of his story beginning with his childhood through to the present. Weenz calls it a “story of survival.”
While the album is still a work in progress, the album’s lead track ‘Family Sitcom’ has been released on facebook and YouTube accompanied by a video.
‘Family Sitcom’ sets the scene in a child’s school years, the music is almost incidental such is the dark subject matter and shocking story unfolding in the lyrics. The video has received over 7000 views since its release ten days ago and has received a positive and supportive reaction.
The album is not yet complete and recording is ongoing at the Hub in Kileely. The album will feature fellow rapper Shane Davis aka Dirty Harry on at least three songs with former Campaign LK bandmate Joe Coffee as main producer on the album.
