Abbeyfeale drive-thru

mcdonalds-work-study-program-3122013FINE Gael councillor Liam Galvin has accused the National Roads Authority (NRA) of trying to turn Abbeyfeale into a McDonald’s drive-thru. Speaking at this Wednesday’s Newcastle West municipal district meeting, Cllr Galvin said, “The NRA are a waste of time and have treated the people of Abbeyfeale appallingly.” “We’re running a town not a drive-thru. If they want to turn us into a McDonald’s they can forget about it,” he declared. In response to Cllr Galvin’s motion for a bus bay to be provided in the town square, Newcastle West municipal district director Paul Crowe said that the NRA did not support the proposal. Councillors agreed that a new traffic plan is needed for Abbeyfeale.
