
A NEW advance parking system, which does not require drivers to pre-register, will be coming on-stream in Limerick shortly.
Members of the newly convened Traffic and Transportation committee of the council were told at their inaugural meeting this week that tenders were sought for a new parking system, based on the successful Park Magic formula but which would allow everyone, including visitors, to park without have to pre-register.
Members were told at the inaugural meeting this Monday that tenders had been sought and a conrtactor appointed to roll out a new parking system which will involve downloading an app, so that everyone can deal with their parking requirements on-line whether they are registered or not.

- External Walls: Up to €8,000 Grant
- Attic: Up to €1,500 Grant
- Cavity Walls: Up to €1,700 Grant
- Internal Dry Lining: Up to €4,500 Grant
And councillors and representatives of the trade union and business sectors, who sit on the committee were told that Limerick is the cheapest place in ireland to park a car.
