UNIVERSITY Concert Hall has channelled links as venue, producer and neighbour to Irish Chamber Orchestra and the Irish World Academy into hosting a new series of talks enhancing our appreciation of music. Make time for five Monday nights, beginning on Monday March 23 and running weekly to Monday April 27 from 7pm to about 9pm.

Pianist Stuart O’Sullivan opens the suite with ‘Beyond the Stars, Mysticism and Innovation: In search of Beethoven’s late Style’. He will “explore some of the unique and distinctive features of Beethoven’s late style, focusing on the piano music”. Illustrated with extracts from the works of Beethoven, performed by Stuart.

Address enquiries to Mairead Tierney at UCH or register with box office or  www.uch.e for all five events at a discount or attend to individual evenings at €12 each.

Michael Murphy and Prof. Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin are listed for subjects as varied as opera and early Irish music over the five weeks.
