A highly entertaining game will be provided by both sides. UL will be well represented with Eoin Cahill as head coach and Tadhg OโDonovan as the backbone of the side. While LIT is driven by head coach and rugby Development Officer Joy Neville and backs coach Brian Tuohy. Over the years some of Munster’s great players have played in this fixture, including former Munster captain Paul O’Connell, David Quinlan and Ian Costello, current Munster assistant coach, representing UL while representatives of LIT included long-serving prop Marcus Horan, Andrew Thompson and Colm McMahon.
LIT V UL historically provides a well contested, entertaining game of rugby. Both sides played each other once this year in the college league with UL claiming revenge from last year with a victory over LIT 50 โ 38. The latest installment of the UL-LIT rivalry will take place on Monday 13th April in the back pitch of Thomand Park. Kick-off is at 4pm with the gates opening from 3pm. Tickets are available at the ground. This year’s fixture is due to include some of the best players that the AIB League has to offer from some of Limerick’s strongest clubs.
Both colleges are delighted to be associated with Limerick based charity Clionaโs Foundation for what should be a great game of collegeโs rugby. Clionaโs Foundation is a charitable organisation was founded in 2007 to fill a great need: providing financial assistance to families from Ireland who has children undergoing long-term medical treatment for critical illness.
Funds raised are for โhiddenโ costs, including accommodation, food, petrol and other miscellaneous expenses incurred by families who must take sick children to hospitals or other medical facilities for frequent treatments.
