Greyhound – The Golden Muzzle Open 550 2015

Screen shot 2015-06-30 at 15.45.29LAST Saturday June 27 saw the Semi final heats of theThe Golden Muzzle Open 550at Limerick Greyhound Stadium.   Twelve Greyhounds competed in the Semi Finals, all vying for first prize of €4,000 and trophy, with the 1st three greyhounds qualifying for the final this Saturday July 4.

The first Semi Final was won by Jackal Frampton in a time of 30.23, who is owned by Declan Beary and trained by Paudie Ryan who both hail from Oola Co. Limerick. Second was Kisses for Cloda who is owned by the Butler family and trained by Oliver Bray in Co. Meath. The third qualifying spot went to recent Holmes O’Malley Sexton Oaks winner Madams Babe and will be the sole female in the final.

The second Semi Final was won by the recent Con & Annie Kirby finalist Ivy Hill Bart in a time of 30.06. This greyhound is owned and trained by Noel Hehir from Ennis Co. Clare. In Second place was Gerry Meaney’s Kilara Hey Mac who is trained by Paul Hennessy. Our final finalist is Cunning Barney who is owned by Robert Malone and trained by Rachel Wheeler.

This Saturday night promises to be an open and exciting final with all Greyhounds well drawn. Gates open at 6:30 with first race at 7:45. Restaurant packages are available on 1890 269 969
