Opinion – Insanity: Limerick Hurling

I think we could leave it there to be honest. Although nearly a week on, it seems no one in the county can agree on what needs to change in Limerick hurling.
In fact, that might actually be the issue. Maybe, Limerick, as a hurling county does not change enough in some quarters and is too quick to change in others.
The Limerick hurling ‘collective’ needs to become more realistic. No All Ireland in 42 years says a lot. Maybe expectations are too high each year. Maybe the hurlers are not in the county to win titles.
If they are, then the players and the coaches need to look at themselves and chance their actions.
All in all, the attitude towards the team as a whole, as well as the internal workings of the squad, needs to change too. It cannot remain the same, surely. We can’t do 43 years.
