#BREAKING – Man dies following garage accident

gardai greyA MAN has died following a workplace accident at a garage in County Limerick this Wednesday night.

The discovery of the man, thought to be in his late 50s or early 60s was made at a garage on the Newport Road, near Annagh in County Limerick.

The alarm was raised shortly after 9:30pm and Gardai together with appliances from the Limerick Fire and Rescue Service and emergency paramedics were called to the scene at a commercial garage near Aherns bar on the Newport Road.

The workplace accident is thought to have occurred earlier this Wednesday evening when the cab of a truck fell on the man who is believed to have been a mechanic working in the garage where trucks, tractors and other commercial vehicles are serviced and repaired.

A garda investigation has been launched and the HSA have also been notified.

The scene has been cordoned off as initial investigations get underway.

The man’s remains are still at the scene, but will be removed later and taken to the University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem examination will be carried out.
