MORE than 2,700 Limerick students received their Junior Certificate results on Wednesday, with 1,337 girls and 1,389 boys sitting the exams.
Nationwide, almost 60,000 students received results. Minister for Education and Limerick TD Jan O’Sullivan congratulated the students and said: “I hope that your results reflect the hard work you have put into your studies and give you a solid foundation to continue your studies in the coming years.”
She also welcomed the continual rise in the number of students sitting the optional oral Irish exam and praised teachers and parents for their roles in supporting the students.
At Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh, two students achieved ten A grades in their exams, with several others achieving nine As in higher level subjects.
