DESPITE the fact that the most infamous of grouches will be in Adare this weekend, his renowned grumpiness will only incite cheer and put smiles on the faces of children and adults alike.
Sesame Street’s ‘Oscar the Grouch’ will leave the comfort of his slovenly trash can this Sunday, December 6, to switch on the Christmas tree lights outside the village hall at 6pm.
Caroll Edwin Spinney, a world famous puppeteer and cartoonist, and the man behind the cantankerous muppet and fellow Sesame Street character ‘Big Bird’, will join his green furry friend for the festivities in Adare.
Mr Spinney and his wife Debra are regular visitors to Adare and love to meet up with young children and adults who remain avid fans of Sesame Street.
