โ€˜COME and Sing Carolsโ€™ in St Maryโ€™s Cathedral this Saturday December 12 at 5.30pm. The promise made by the Cathedralโ€™s Companions of Music is that carol singing is fun for all the family. Their invitation is to hear โ€œmany of the Christmas favourites โ€“ we hope to put you in the Christmas spirit!โ€

Itโ€™s a free event, of course, and ecumenical. One performing corps will be St Maryโ€™s Prize Band under the direction of Derek Mulcahy, bringing us โ€œa chance to hear this famous part of Limerickโ€™s rich cultural heritage, of which we are justifiably proud. It is a great Limerick musical institution.

โ€œWe are also delighted to welcome as special guests the Limerick Choral Union, conducted by musical director Malcolm Green, with accompanist Stuart Oโ€™Sullivan. They will be performing a selection of choruses from Handelโ€™s well loved Messiah, as well as helping to boost the singing with their rousing musicianshipโ€.

P.S. There will be a retiring collection for Limerick City parish.
