A €3,000 consignment of cocaine was seized at a house in County Limerick as part of a planned search under Operation Thor this week.

Bruff based garda, together with detectives from the divisional drugs unit carried out five planned searches in the district which led to the discovery of the single consignment of drugs on Thursday last.

Searches at Cappamore and Pallasgreen were carried out before two searches in Kilmallock where the drugs were found.

The seizure was made at an address on Sarsfield Street in the county Limerick town.

A man in his 30s was arrested and taken to Bruff Garda Station for questioning.

Garda later released the man and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
