NEW international hard rock project OGMA, featuring Shannon guitarist DJ O’Sullivan, has announced itself in emphatic style with a debut single and a run of dates alongside rock legend Geoff Tate.
Forged from the touring world of original Queensrÿche frontman Geoff Tate, the band brings together musicians from across Ireland and beyond.
Shannon-based guitarist DJ O’Sullivan, known for his work with XIII Doors, is joined by Kilkenny singer and guitarist James Brown, who also plays in Geoff Tate’s touring band and performs with Mark Daly and the Ravens. Australian guitarist Jimmy Wynen, of Darker Half, completes the core trio, with Colin Frecknall of Today Is The Day on drums. The four met while working with Tate and channelled that connection into a project of their own.
Enslaved arrived on the back of a run of US shows earlier in the year, during which OGMA opened for Tate on his spring tour. The band is currently back on the road with him, with further dates confirmed in Spain this summer. Built on memorable riffs, melodic vocals and a foot-stomping groove, the single is less an introduction than a declaration of intent.
Heavy, direct and designed for the live arena, Enslaved signals the arrival of a band with serious international ambitions — and the momentum to match.
Enslaved is available now on iTunes and streaming platforms.
