A MAN who was caught delivering thousands of euro worth of drugs on a motorbike in Limerick has had a two and a half year prison sentence suspended by a circuit court judge.

Kieran Egan (47) of Cappa Lodge, Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and a small amount of cocaine at Clonlong halting site on April 23, 2014.

A further €4,800 worth of cannabis was also found at his home. Limerick Circuit Court was told that he had accumulated a substantial drug debt and admitted to five or six deliveries in part payment.

Suspending the jail term for five years, Judge Tom O’Donnell said he was “taking a chance”on the defendant.
