THE Galway based Branar Teatar do Pháistí has a deserved reputation for imaginative productions, original storylines and wonderful puppet and special effects.

This company works internationally, forming easy alliances with artists and their traditions overseas, which brings new elements of skill and presentation to the stage.

Branar returns to Lime Tree Theatre this weekend with its latest. ‘Maloney’s Dream’ or Brionglóid Maloney has to do with the centenary celebrations of the 1916 Rising. Make time for it on Thursday April 21 and Friday 22 with school shows at 10am and again at noon, or the family show taking place on Saturday April 23 at 3pm.

According to Lime Tree’s marketing manager Gill Fenton: “…Set against the background of Easter week 1916. Thaddeus Maloney has a Meet Maloney’s Dream of a new beginning…a dream to open a new hotel on Sackville Street (now O’Connell Street) on the Easter Monday.

“It’s a bilingual show that is jam packed with live music, physical theatre and puppetry”.
