210 new jobs were created last year by the Limerick Local Enterprise Office (LEO).  

245 companies employing 1,475 people are affiliated to the Limerick LEO and last year, those companies took on 360 new staff. By the end of the year, 210 of those jobs were still in existence. 

7,122 new full and part-time jobs were created by companies supported by local enterprise offices throughout the country. The numbers employed in LEO supported small businesses currently stand at 32,592.

The 31 LEOs provide a ‘first stop shop’ for supports and signposting to start-ups, micro enterprises and small businesses nationwide.  

Enterprise Minister Mary Mitchell O’Connor said the creation of 3,533 net new jobs by LEO client companies was a remarkable achievement and testament to the hard work of entrepreneurs in local communities all around the country.

“Ensuring we have the right environment for job growth is at the heart of the Regional Action Plan for Jobs and I will be ensuring that these plans are implemented right across the country”, she said.
