4/7/2015 Children from local Limerick hurling clubs attended one of Centra’s ‘Champions of Healthy Living’ summer tour events with hurling stars Declan Hannon and Seamus Hickey in the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick. The children were treated to a very special hurling skills session with the two county stars and also got an insight into the nutrition and diet of a champion as Centra look to spread their healthy living message across Ireland through community events taking place throughout the summer. Budding hurlers from Limerick will have a chance to show off their skills on Saturday 25th June as Centra host a community hurling event in the Gaelic Grounds with hurling stars Seamus Hickey and Declan Hannon. The event is part of Centra’s Live Well initiative which promotes healthy living and encourages people to get active.

Limerick-men Seamus Hickey and Declan Hannon will be putting participants to the test with the #LiveWell Target Challenge at the event, as clubs aim to secure a place at the ultimate day out in Croke Park later this year. On Saturday 25th, one lucky Limerick GAA club will win a once in a lifetime trip to Croke Park, receiving a hurling skills session from the best hurlers in the country on the hallowed grounds. As well as this, they will receive an all access pass to behind the scenes areas of Croke Park, a stadium tour and museum tour to understand the history of Ireland’s national sport.

Centra, who recently announced the extension of its sponsorship of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship to 2019, will be encouraging fans to live well and get active this summer with 12 community hurling events taking place throughout the country. The events will see thousands of children receiving hurling skills sessions with inter-county stars, along with healthy eating tips and hydration suggestions to promote healthy living. There will be lots of other family entertainment on the day including face-painting and a hurling simulator. The event commences at 10am on Saturday 25th June in the Gaelic Grounds.
