Over 400 budding hurlers from Limerick lined out last weekend in the Gaelic Grounds for the fourth of Centra’s hurling events of the season. The event, which was also attended by hurling stars Tony Kelly and Podge Collins, is part of Centra’s Live Well initiative which promotes healthy living and encourages people to get active.

The Clare duo of Tony Kelly and Podge Collins put the participants to the test with the #LiveWell Target Challenge as clubs aimed to secure a place at the ultimate day out in Croke Park later this year. Adare GAA Club were the lucky winners on the day, with club members stepping foot on the famous pitch later this year and receiving a hurling skills session from the best hurlers in the country. As well as this, they will receive an all access pass to behind the scenes areas of Croke Park, a stadium tour and museum tour.

At the recent community hurling event, girls and boys from all over Limerick came in their droves to take part in the event and learn from inter-county players. As well as a variety of fun skills sessions, the participants also received some invaluable healthy eating tips from the hurling heroes on the day. The inter-county players gave a healthy eating talk on how to perform to the best of their ability through healthy living, with healthy eating habits and hydration suggestions.

The Limerick event was hosted by the following Centra stores; Rodahan’s Centra Ennis Road, Ryan’s Centra Raheen, O’Flynn’s Centra Limerick, Casey’s Centra Dock Road, Kennelly’s Centra Dooradoyle, Reidy’s Centra Foynes, Rodahan’s Centra Woodview, Duggan’s Centra Castletroy, Ryan’s & Hanly’s  Centra Askeaton, Meaney’s Centra Dromcollogher, O’Sullivan’s Centra Hospital, O’ Flynn’s Centra Bruff, Regan’s Centra Pallas Green, Sheehy’s Centra Kilfinnane, Lohan’s Centra Adare, Leonard’s Centra Cappamore, O’ Sullivan’s Centra Clarina and O’Sullivan’s Centra Caherconlish.
