THE JAM packed GAA weekend will be brought to a fitting close this Sunday afternoon as the Limerick Minor hurlers take on Tipperary in the Munster final.
The decider, to be played at the Gaelic Grounds at 2pm, will be Limerick’s fourth minor final in a row having lost last season to Tipperary in Thurles.
Limerick manager Pat Donnelly, speaking to PostSport this week said, “The players might have revenge in their minds, but we have not spoken about it as a group. We knew the semi final against Waterford was the game we needed to focus on and now the same can be said for this week. We are only thinking about Tipperary and not about last season or about anything we cannot control”.
Limerick will once more have a full panel to choose from with Brian Ryan, Paul O’Brien and Conor Boylan once more set to lead the scoring assault.
Donnelly and his backroom team were quick to bring the side back down to earth following their semi final win, with the attention being turned to collecting a medal all hurlers want.
“These lads are focused on winning. They have brought that mentality from previous experiences with Limerick and with their schools. Tipperary are a traditional hurling side and we will need to be at our best to win,” added Donnelly.
Probable Limerick team:  Mark O’Kelly (Croom), Brian Nash (South Liberties), Conor Nicholas (Monaleen), Finn Hourigan (Murroe/Boher), Michael O’Grady (Knockainey), Josh Adams (Ballybrown), Brian Timmons (Murroe/ Boher), Darragh Carroll (Newport), Cal McCarthy (Kilmallock), Brian Ryan (South Liberties), Cian Magnier Flynn (Killeedy), David Woulfe (Kilmallock), Conor Boylan (Na Piarsaigh), Kyle Hayes (Kildimo/ Pallaskenry), Paul O’Brien (Mungret/ St Paul’s).
