Tuesdays July 19 and 26
Tuesdays July 19 and 26: song, storytelling, dancing – and the audience invited to partake

HOW does an evening of Irish trad music, dance and entertainment work for you, nestling in the fabulous countryside of south Limerick? Hasten to Kilfinane for Hup na Houra evenings this Tuesday July 19 and again, July 26.

The festive and truly Irish night of performance will now extend into August 23 on a weekly Tuesday basis.

Taking place in the Old Chapel Rooms, the talent is rich with terrific performers such as Derek Hickey on accordion and singer Deirdre Scanlan relaying to us the history and life of the area.

Hup na Houra is part of the Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Eireann Seisiún programme. This is also current in Hunt Museum for Thursday nights over seven weeks and audience interaction is welcome.

Back to Kilfinane, and news that Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Patrick O’Donovan will attend the show on Tuesday 26 along with representatives of Fáilte Ireland.

No surprise, as Sarah Gleeson reports: “We have had a stream of international guests including a group of 20 from New Mexico, a group from Finland, Belgium, US Marines, our UK neighbours and this week a group of over 20 from Spain.  We anticipate to bring  close to 1000 people through the doors of our magnificent cultural center in Kilfinane over the summer months”.

Along with top quality music and song, experience traditional dancing at its best with a mix of step, set, sean-nós and brush dancing – a celebration of Ireland as it is to this day.
