Limerick Gardai investigating the fatal crash and stabbing incident

GARDAI in County Limerick are investigating possible links with a stabbing incident and a fatal crash that claimed the lives of a father and his young child this morning.

Shortly after 8:30am this Tuesday morning, emergency services were alerted to a fatal crash at an area known as Brooks Bridge on the N24, Pallasgreen to Oola road.

The father of the child who is an Italian national, was involved in a head on collision with a truck in a 2005 registered black Audi car which was also carrying his young child.

The man and his young 3-year-old son were killed instantly when the collided with the truck.

Gardai, who are investigating the circumstances of the fatal crash are said to be investigating links to a possible domestic incident.

It is understood that a woman from Oola has been hospitalised and is being treated for stab wounds.
