DANCE Limerick on John’s Square is host to an unusual workshop on Saturday July 30 when international performer Andrea Goodman shows up for class.

‘Vocal Magic’ will be a day-long intensive for singers, performance artists, theatre practitioners and “anyone with an interest in using the voice within the context of ritual and healing”.

The organiser here for this opportunity is Ceara Conway. Conway is artist in residence with Ormston House gallery on Patrick Street and Limerick Arts Office. Her spotlight is on Andrea Goodman, a solo recording artist who is one of the original singers of the Meredith Monk Vocal Ensemble, appearing in theatre and concerts worldwide.

For Vocal Magic, this ordained minister/ priestess will address vocal technique, intuitive singing, and sound-healing; understanding archetypal song, sound as metaphor, intention as creative muse; the voice as a channel of healing and transformation.

Tickets at the door or online at eventbrite.
