GAA – Limerick and All Ireland Champions in danger

Screen shot 2016-08-17 at 16.17.29CURRENT All Ireland, Munster and Limerick Club champions Na Piarsaigh are in danger of losing all three crowns this weekend as they face elimination from the Limerick Senior Hurling championship.
The light blues, who face South Liberties on Friday evening in Claughaun, know that a win for Ballybrown over Doon on Sunday night in Kilmallock will see their quest to retain the club championship title ended.
Such is the nature of Group 1, Na Piarsaigh have lost two of their opening three games. With Doon on a 100 per cent record from their games, they are still favourites to claim a win over Ballybrown; however, the Clarina club can go top of the group themselves, should they secure a win.
In Group 2, Adare lead the way with three wins from three and will look to make it four with a win over bottom placed Knockainey.
The chasing pack for top spot includes Patrickswell and Ahane, who are both on four points. This weekend at the Gaelic Grounds the two famous clubs will lock horns in a tie which should secure a quarter final spot, at the very least, for the winners.
Finally, in the Premier Intermediate championship, table toppers and 100 per cent record holders Garryspillane will face Croom on Saturday in what should be another 2 pointer.
