DEAN Strang, one of Steven Avery’s defence lawyers from the hit Netflix series Making a Murderer will address students at the University (UL) at the end of this month.

Strang, was one of the key figures in the defence of the Avery who was charged with the murder of a woman after he was previously jailed in the wrong by Manitowoc County for a sexual assault which was later proven that he did not commit.

The murder trial was documented by by Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos in a hit-making 10 part Netflix series, as they followed and explored the story of Steven Avery.

The show sparked widespread debate about the US criminal justice system.

With Avery appealing his conviction with a new legal team and a second Netflix series in the making, Dean Strang is addressing law students and on September 26 next, the US attorney will lecture at the University of Limerick at 8pm.
