Limerick councillors go at it

2009666-rocky_iv_original_kTHE monthly meeting of Adare-Rathkeale Municipal District saw sparks fly this week with a recess called to let two local representatives cool off.

While speaking at this Tuesday’s meeting in Adare Heritage Centre, Fianna Fail councillor Kevin Sheahan came under fire from independent councillor Emmett O’Brien for “rambling”.

While speaking about the issue of potholes, one of every local councillors favourite topics, Cllr O’Brien interrupted Cllr Sheahan while in full flow and accused him of “just rambling”.

Cllr Sheahan was not impressed with the comment and things quickly became heated.

“That is not acceptable. At a previous meeting you accused me of talking shit,” the former mayor responded.

Cllr O’Brien then claimed that Cllr Sheahan has had an issue with him since he left Fianna Fail in 2014.
