Man to be charged over fatal Limerick assault

The 32-year-old man arrested in connection with a fatal assault last in Limerick Wednesday is to be charged and brought before Limerick District Court on Monday morning.

Gardai made the arrest during their  investigation of an assault on Lord Edward Street where 51-year-old Gerard Freyne died as a result of serious injuries.

Mr Freyne was found on the footpath outside a pharmacy at 7.45pn on October 12 last.

Mr Freyne was removed to hospital where he subsequently died from his injuries.
