Resilience Care expands its South-West services for young adults with intellectual disabilities

Following the successful opening of its residential service in Cashel, Co. Tipperary earlier this year, Resilience Care – a provider of residential and community based services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder – is now expanding its services in the South-West with the opening of a new residential service in Westbury, Co. Clare, on the Limerick border.

With demand growing for such residential support services throughout the country, Resilience Care has already announced plans to invest in further properties in the South-East and Dublin before the end of the year. The Westbury facility, is the second of five new residential services to be opened by Resilience Care this year, creating approximately 80 new positions in all.

14 new jobs are being created in this supported living service, which will provide tailor made supports for up to four young adults with intellectual disabilities and/or Autism.  The service will be registered with HIQA and will incorporate community living, personal development and social inclusion. Its support team adopts a person-centred approach to assisting young adults to develop key life skills and effective methods of communication, enabling them to fully participate within their local community.

Commenting on the announcement, Laura Keane, Managing Director of Resilience Care said: “Resilience Care is thrilled to be expanding its South-West services, offering essential support to young adults with disabilities to achieve an independent life. As we continue to extend our residential services across the country this year, we look forward to integrating with local communities to identify opportunities for our young people, as well as creating local job opportunities within those communities.”

Resilience Care is now inviting applications from support workers with backgrounds in social care across various qualification levels to fill 7 initial posts as well as a Team Lead position. Details on how to apply can be found at http://www.resilience.ie/work-with-us/
