Faster broadband connections for Limerick city and county

Communication services provider eir has connected an additional 6,545 homes and businesses with high speed broadband in Limerick city and county this year.

4,827 of them were fibre to the home (FTTH) connections, offering speeds of up to 1,000Mb/s.

This includes connecting communities in Crossagalla, Clarina, Croom, Murroe, Patrickswell, Athea, Castleconnell, Pallasgreen and Castletroy.

The rollout is part of eir’s commitment to reach 300,000 premises by the end of next year, with an investment of €200 million made in the network. The company has connected more than 70,000 premises to date across the city and county.
