THE first cohort of participants in an active leadership development programme, developed in Limerick to focus on SMEs and larger enterprises throughout Ireland, graduated from the University of Limerick this month.

Developed in conjunction with with local and international consultants Ingenium Training and Consulting, the Smart Choice leadership programme has been described as “a one-year journey that allows leaders and potential leaders to develop their skills at work and to advance their organisation through self-reflection and the pragmatic application of academic research to their own work environments”.

Dr Eric Sandelands, the group’s research director said, “Smart Choice provides the keys to both personal and organisational growth and effectiveness. It makes it feel natural to apply the best of the research world to live organisational projects, challenges and opportunities.

“One of the biggest pleasures in working on Smart Choice is to see participants achieve demanding personal development goals and to see them go on to use their newfound and newly developed competencies to lead change initiatives that progress their company and ultimately benefit all those who work there.”

Last week’s graduation was attended by the Ingenium team and programme participants from Action Point, Serocep Diagnostic Solutions, DGD Shredding, i3PT Certification, HOMS Solicitors, Kirby Engineering and Construction, Roadbridge, The Galtee Group, Anam Technologies, Collen Construction and AMCS Group, friends and family of participants and some local business people.

Ingenium Training and Consulting are a Limerick based organisation that provide management and leadership development solutions, as well as strategic planning services, HR consulting, behavioural based safety programs, team alignment workshops, capital market advisory services, and cultural assessments for local and international organisations.
