Jan O’ Sullivan says council owned buildings on Nicholas Street should be used as a centre for artists.

The Limerick T.D was speaking after the announcement that Treaty City Brewery will open a premises on Nicholas Street.

Deputy O’Sullivan said: “I very much welcome the news from Treaty City Brewery that they will be relocating to Nicholas Street but the government now needs to move my colleague Deputy Alan Kelly’s craft drinks bill through the Oireachtas to allow craft brewers to sell their product on site. There are already some positive developments in the street including commercial developments and the work being done on the “Fireplace” site is well underway.””

“I am also calling for a dedicated space in one of the council owned buildings on Nicholas Street for artists and craft workers which would act as a fitting tribute to the late Barney Sheehan.” concluded TD O’Sullivan
