Freight train to Nutbush City with ‘Simply The Best’

Rebecca O’Connor returns to UCH with her Tina Turner revue on June 14. This powerhouse entertainer is the only Irish artist to ever win the prestigious European TV competition ‘Stars in Their Eyes in front of over 33 million viewers and has continued to do so all over the world to sell-out crowds ever since.

Be prepared to be lifted out of your seats as Rebecca delivers her flawless rendition of Tina Turner’s greatest hits including, Nutbush City Limits, Proud Mary, River Deep, Private Dancer, When the Heartache Is Over, Better Be Good to Me and of course her anthem, Simply the Best.

Rebecca O’Connor spoke Limerick Post Newspaper this week from Florence in Italy.

“I can’t wait to come back to Limerick. It is going to be amazing – we had a great craic the last time.
“I love the theatre and the stage is so low to the ground. I had people crying at the concert – I am amazed at the turnout so far for the tour.”

After selling out the Cork Opera House, performing on the 80s’ cruise with the real Kim Wilde, Go West and Tony Hadley, Rebecca is on a high. And her performances every night bear that out. Eibhlin Gleeson, GM of Cork Opera House agrees.

“It was like a freight train came through Cork and blew the doors off the theatre, it was so powerful and dynamic,” says Eibhlin who adds, “Don’t miss this show.”

Mick Fleetwood of the legendary Fleetwood Mac caught Rebecca in action as Ms. Turner and was blown away by the show.
“Rebecca is an amazing singer and performer, She is an artist in her own right – not just a tribute act. I was mesmerised… a night you’ll never forget.”

Tina Turner has witnessed the show from her new home base in Zurich, Switzerland, and was suitably impressed. Tina Turner (78) hasn’t toured since 2010 so Rebecca’s show is simply the best way to experience these Turner prize anthems in a live setting.

Rebecca O’Connor’s Simply The Best Show plays UCH on Thursday June 14.
