Paradigm Shift down Lucky Lane

seed sank deep transformation

GALLERY Interlude, a project between Contact Studios and Lucky Lane introduced by Arts page a month ago, opens out for its second solo exhibition. ’Paradigm Shift’ is comprised of paintings by Gerry O’Mahony on show for the weekend only, Friday August 10 at 7pm into 9pm, and continuing Saturday August 11 from 11am – 3pm.

This pop up Interlude is in Lucky Lane’s indoor space on Catherine Street. Everyone is welcome to the Friday launch sponsored by Treaty City Brewery and The Glen Tavern.

“This collection of work represents part of a recent phase of a ten year project,” says Gerry O’Mahony. “The original inspiration was the power of the written or spoken word, for good or evil. This current phase explores a story from ‘Plato’s Republic’ of a prisoner in a cave who escapes into the light and consequently is no longer able to live with the reality of the cave.”

‘Paradigm Shift’ defines this because it describes a radical transformation.

“This reflects how at times we can see things in a very definite way, until at some stage there is a shift in perception and change in vision. This recent work is an exploration of my own paradigm shifts, my own journey,” O’Mahony says.
