THE top floor of the Limerick Strand Hotel played host to a huge party last weekend as Ilovelimerick founder Richard Lynch and Hugo Dahn celebrated their wedding with family and friends.

August 30 was a particularly meaningful date as it would have been the 60th wedding anniversary of Richard’s beloved parents, the late Eric and Florence Lynch. To mark this Richard screened a special eight-minute documentary focusing on the love story of his parents.Richard and Hugo met at Dublin Pride seven years ago and guests travelled from all over the world to celebrate with the popular couple.

Many of Hugo’s family and friends flew in from his native Latvia while eight of Richard’s closest friends flew in from New York to help mark the occasion.

Limerick wedding planner Sharon McMeel, helped the couple plan the day with well known spiritual singer and Minister Nóirín Ní Riain officiating the wedding.  There were so many highlights of the day it’s hard to mention them all but as guests made their way to the city suite they stopped to pose for photos on front a breathtaking wall of flowers which was created by Irish Girl in Brooklyn, a new Limerick based business. Music also played a big role at the wedding with Limerick singer-songwriter Emma Langford, harpist Gráinne Fitzgibbon and Michelle Grimes from Ireland’s Got Talent all featuring.

The music theme continued as Richard and Hugo had their first dance, a mash up of two of their favourite Kylie Minogue songs ‘Flower’ and ‘All The Lovers’ which had guests up dancing with the couple on the sparkliest lit-up dancefloor under a magic disco ball.

DJ Eric went on to play a fantastic party set and the music continued into the early hours of the morning with a silent disco featuring a mix of New York house and pop music. As you can see from our photographs there were plenty of family of friends pictured at the party all wanting to wish the happy couple the best on their new life!
